Haven't been playing much unfortunately, but here are a few hands where I am pushing back more than usual. I play low, and try to play ABC most of the time -- not sure how well I succeed there -- but am also trying to pick some new spots to show aggression early. My stats should indicate to anyone looking that I'm somewhere between solid and nitty, IMO.
Hand 1: Villain is 16/12, and aggressive postflop. He's been pushing some folks around (but not me -- the 2 people between us had just left).
$0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 4 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)
SB: $25.00
BB: $11.70
UTG: $25.00
Hero (BTN): $33.55
Preflop: Hero is dealt Th Jh (4 Players)
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.95, SB raises to $3.25, BB folds, Hero raises to $10.00
Hand 2: Villain is 27/21/2.8, and has floated me 3 or 4 times straight when he's had position, and he'd taken pots from me when I missed and didn't second barrel. He'd also squeezed a couple times.
$0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 6 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)
SB: $38.60
BB: $16.75
UTG: $30.30
MP: $23.15
CO: $8.40
Hero (BTN): $24.90
Preflop: Hero is dealt 6s 8s (6 Players)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.25, CO folds, Hero calls $0.25, SB raises to $1.25, 2 folds, Hero calls $1.00
Flop: ($3) 5c Td 4h (2 Players)
SB bets $2.50, Hero raises to $10.50
Hand 3: Villain is 35/0/2.5 over 80 hands, but I don't think I had a ton of hands on him when this went down.
$0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 4 Players - (http://www.legopoker.com/hh)
SB: $15.45
BB: $11.25
Hero (UTG): $31.65
BTN: $35.15
Preflop: Hero is dealt Jh Qh (4 Players)
BB calls $0.25, Hero raises to $1.15, BTN calls $1.15, 2 folds
Flop: ($2.80) 6s 6d Kh (2 Players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $1.25, Hero raises to $5.00
I miss my pops!

hand 1: I might call the raise to see a flop, and raise on alot flops that looks to have missed him.
Hand 2: I think if you are going to play the hand you need to isolate and punish the limper. That is not a bad flop to raise it misses alot of the hands in his range. If he calls you have a gutter just incase. If you are going to play suited connectors play them aggressive in position instead of limping with them.
hand 3: I would rather just lead out on the flop if he missed the flop he will likely fold. This is a good board to cbet. I think by check raising the flop you are costing your self more money when he has a hand.
I think you are trying to play to fancy at these levels. Just play tight solid abc poker. Bet when you have a hand and fold when you don't. You will get payed off enough when you have a hand that there is no reason to be bluffing all the time at these levels.
I typed this prior to reading Chris's response I swear. Just read it and I couldnt help but laugh. Almost the same exact thoughts just in different words.
Hand 1: Solid play. The power of the 4-bet is insane. I honestly think you can get a good player to dump pocket Jacks or worse.
Hand 2:I like the aggression but I raise here prelflop. I wouldnt just limp this hand on the button.
Hand 3: I like this play if you take this same line with AK or KK. Honestly I would probably just c-bet this flop and take down the pot.
Avoid the fancy play syndrome. ABC poker is huge in my and the best pros games.
Another thing, the key to my aggression is that I use it to create an image. This is what CR preaches and something I think a lot of the low limit grinders are missing. I am a maniac on the button or CO but from MP and UTG I am tighter then a virgin school girl. At these stakes villians dont pick up on it and therefore I create an illusion. Also I simply play aggro with garbage in small pots and save the big pots for when I have the goods.
I play at these limits and would not be tempted to re raise with these hands especially if I had missed the flop because most of the time as has already been said people will generally have something if they raise you. The initial raises in position are fine in my opinion but not sure about the re raising
But having said that I'm the tightest player in the world and need to loosen up a fair bit and this is one area I'm considering having a look at although I haven't done anything about it as yet.
"I am a maniac on the button or CO but from MP and UTG I am tighter then a virgin school girl."
LOL.
I am also trying to learn well-placed aggression. I am going to try and go back to basics and just bet and raise a lot, and not go for fancy plays.
I like your point Noel about being really aggressive with garbage in small pots and that way you can be more likely to be called down when you have the goods.
Hand 1: I don't like waiting for the flop to put in a raise, as it's going to have a lot less FE and will be more expensive. I think if I'm going to push back without a premium hand, it's better to do it preflop. Also, that's more how I would play my premium hands.
Hand 2: I see your points about playing suited connectors aggressively preflop. I kind of go back and forth how I play them, though, from the button. Re-reading some of the preflop stuff in NL Theory and Practice, they talk about seeing cheap flops from the button with a pretty wide range, so I've been playing around with it, and actually seeing some decent results in more passive games....which I'm not sure applies to this one specifically. My plan definitely changed when villain squeezed, though, and I decided I was going to raise pretty much any flop as a change of pace.
Hand 3: I make a lot of c-bets. As I said in my original post, I try to play ABC most of the time, but also am looking for some spots to change it up. I disagree even at the small stakes that there are no players who don't play well against ABC players, and even at the micro stakes, you need to mix up your game and make opponent-specific adjustments. It's just that you don't need to be nearly as tricky, and the opponent adjustments should be more easy to make on average than in higher games. Not to say that this is a good spot to c/r even as a change up, but I think that I might also c/r here with AK a fair amount of the time, too, so I thought about trying it as a total bluff.
Thanks for the comments so far!
Hand 1. Very nice, but just watch out. Don't do this vs a donk who can't fold a pocket pair or two high cards. A good player will fold AKo,AQo,AJo, and low pocket pairs when you 4 bet when you have a tight image.
Hand 2. I agree with Chris. If your going to play 68s, you have to raise it and punish the limpers.
On the flop, it's pretty dry. Not a bad play by raising because villian has a tight range on SB. He probably has two overs or a high pocket pair. If he calls, you can shut down. If he re raises you, you can safely fold.
Hand 3. This is not a bad play if you got a read that he's aggressive post flop.
By you check raising, you are basically representing Ako or better. Against a unknown, it is best to c bet and find out where you are at.
Hand 1 i would nt 3 bet this hand , but then thats me , sadly lacking in 3 nets unless i have a premium hand , however i can see if you 3 bet a v tight player then youll probably get him to fold , ill have a think about this and try to bring 3 betting into my game .
hand 2 man , i dont know if i could 3 bet this hand , i have to look into 3 betting
hand 3 i watched brystmars video on flop texture last night , im not sure about this flop but i know the k would come into a lot of starting hands so this is definately representing it
